 <Profile>Ying Wang:

Ying Wang was born in Shanghai, China. She studied at Shanghai Conservatory of Music and received her bachelor’s degree in music composition in 2002. After she moved to Germany to study composition with Prof. York Hoeller, Prof. Rebecca Saunders, Prof. Johannes Schoellhorm and electronic composition with Prof. Michael Beil at the Cologne Conservatory of Music and Dance (Hochschule fuer Musik und Tanz Koeln). In 2011 she is completing a master degree in contemporary music at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (Hochschule fuer Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt).
2012 she was selected the Cursus de composition et d’informatique musicale in IRCAM Paris.
She is the winner of many composition competition and scholarships, such as International Ensemble Modern Academy (2009/10), Matrix 11 and Matrix 12 Scholarship the Experimental Studio SWR, Herrenhaus Edekoben on recommendation of Peter Eoetvoes, Giga-Hertz-Preis 2013, 5th Brandenburg Biennale and others. Her music was performed by Suedwestern Rundfunk Orchester, Guerzenich Orchester, Musikfabrik and others. Her Concert have been to present in China, Europe and the United States, in festivals and venus such as Center Pompidou Paris, Konzerthaus Berlin, ZKM : Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Music Factory Helsinki, UCCA Ullens Center for Contemporary Art Beijing, Lucerne Festival and others. She just working for a new commission for Piano and Percussion, that will be premiere at festival Forum neue musik 2015 with Isao Nakamura and his wife Kaya Han.

We would like to inform you the result of the 35th Irino Prize, 2014.
The Selection Committee has been held on August 9, 2014 at the NPO JML Yoshiro Irino Music Institute Tokyo.

Total of Entries:49 compositions, 22 countries

Award: 500,000 Japanese yen

Jury of this year: Joji YUASA, Yori-Aki MATSUDAIRA, Satoshi TANAKA, Takayuki RAI, Mari TAKANO(Chairperson), Masahiro MIWA, Haruyuki SUZUKI

Special Jury: Yasuaki ITAKURA(Conductor of Tokyo Sinfonietta)
