[Profile of Mariano Russo]
Mariano Russo (1998) graduated in Cultural Heritage (2020) and in Musicology (2022) at the University of Milan and in Composition (2023) at the Conservatory of Milan. Now he is attending the postgraduate course of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome), with M° Alessandro Solbiati and he is a PhD Student in Musicology at the University of Milan. He participates as a speaker in both national and international conferences, such as GATM Annual Conference of Analysis and Muiscal Theory, “Colloqui del Saggiatore musicale” and Italian Society of Musicology (SiDM). His articles are published on the scientific magazine “Analitica”. As a composer, his music is played internationally, after commissions and victories in composition competitions (such as Pontino festival, Milan’s Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Divertimento Ensemble, GOG Genova, New music generation Kazakhstan, Jorge Peixinho Lisbona, Diaphonia call for scores, Divertimento Ensemble, Piero Farulli International Competition, Premio Lamberto Brunelli…). His work «Una costruzione dell’assenza» for orchestra is premiered in may 2025 by the Real Filharmonía de Galicia (Santiago de Compostela), conducted by Jordi Francés. His scores have been published by Casa Ricordi Universal and AvA Musical Editions (Portugal).
